Good News Day for the Tigers

If you have been under a rock, Clemson alumnus Lucas Glover won the U.S. Open by two strokes over several big names and another guy wearing a white Fidel Castro hat. Tonight, the 109th U.S. Open champ will take his southern charm to the Late Show with David Letterman. To our knowledge, there are currently no Sarah Palin jokes planned. With the recent string of disappointment, we can only hope that Lucas's success will permeate through the rest of Clemson Athletics.

Highly touted Fayette Co. (GA) Guard, Noel Johnson makes it official that he will be a Clemson Tiger. BALLER.

Ditka, the Fridge, Hoops for Friday Fodder

Mike Ditka and the Gridiron Greats are helping William "Refrigerator" Perry with his current medical and financial predicament. Its nice to see the NFL taking care of its own. Mike Ditka says of the Fridge:

"William's problems are multiple," Ditka said. "It's not just one thing. I went out there to that autograph show in Rosemont (Feb. 26). He must have lost a hundred pounds. That's like throwing a deck chair off the Titanic, but still, it's a lot of weight." -DITKA!
*UPDATE*

In Basketball news, 4 star prospect Noel Johnson chooses Clemson over LSU. Johnson took his last at official visit to Clemson last night after de-committing from Southern Cal. In other hoops news, Clemson Senior Trevor Booker manhandled his way onto team USA for the World University Games with EXTREME ferocity; so says Andy Katz.

Good thing Willy Korn is on full scholarship and does not have to worry about working the nightshift at Sonic to compensate for Clemson's latest tuition hike.

ACC Championship Game to Primetime?

The ACC Championship Game in Jacksonville in 2007
For some reason, the ACC Championship Game is moving to Primetime on ESPN. ACC Commissioner John Swofford seriously has to be blackmailing someone at ESPN as there is no way 27,000 fans at the ACC Championship game in Tampa (what an irrelevant venue) dictates Primetime coverage on the "Worldwide Leader in Sports." Please someone fast track moving this FAILfest to Charlotte.
Willy Korn should be on primetime daily inspiring children across the world with videos like this followed by baby pandas wrestling.

Clemson: The Mid-Week News

Tillman Hall. . . on fire? false alarm.

The Good: Clemson will be well represented at the U.S. Open with an all Clemson threesome including Lucas Glover, D.J. Trahan and amateur Kyle Stanley.

The Sad: Trevor Adair officially resigns from his post as Clemson Men's Soccer coach amid personal turmoil. We wish Trevor the best in hopes he can sort out his personal issues and one day coach again.

The Downright Bizarre: The Clemson mail van that was stolen outside of Sikes hall on Monday turned up in the Oconee County wilderness. . . . ABLAZE! I know the Clemson mail service wasn't the best but I mean there is no need to resort to drunken Hooliganism.
